Adrère Amellal Eco-Lodge lies sixteen kilometers away from the charming village of Siwa. Nested at the foot of the ‘White Mountain’, Adrère Amellal is host to 40 rooms built and laid in total harmony with Siwa’s distinct natural and architectural heritage. In the middle of sixty million years of accumulated mineral geological formations ,earth buildings characterized by their distinction and authenticity, blend naturally with the surrounding landscape of the Oasis. Every room is unique. Walls are made of rock-salt, roofs from palm wood, and floors from hand cut stone. Sculpted fixtures and furniture, pay tribute to the talent of local artisans and craftsmen. With no electricity, Adrère Amellal is indeed the ideal place to listen to nature. Torches, beeswax candles,moonlight, and infinite stars illuminate the setting. An expanse of indigenous plants, shrubs, and trees irrigated by natural springs, are host to Adrère Amellal’s organic vegetable garden . Traditional dishes are cooked in honey –glazed clay pots. Daily hand picked herbs, vegetables and salads accompany our cuisine . A plethora of activities constitute an integral part of the experience of the Journey to Siwa. They may take the form of refreshing oneself in a basin fed by the Adrère Amellal’s Natural Spring; relaxing by the Salt Lake; exploring the sand dunes of the Great Sand Sea; and travelling back in time while walking through the Historic Fortress of Shali. Other activities include horseback riding as well as salt, mud, and massage treatments. We recommend that you inquire and book horseback riding and treatments early on during your stay.
