18-Hole Golf Course 18-Hole Golf Course – The highlight of Soi Dao is the award-winning 18-hole golf course, created by renowned course designer Denis Griffiths. Stretching over 395 acres of lush, tropical mountainside beauty, the undulating course is both a challenge to the seasoned golfer yet equally enjoyable for those seeking a relaxing round of golf. With multiple water hazards, challenging bunkers and a signature par 3 third hole, it’s a thoroughly enjoyable course to take on and adds the perfect element your stay. Not only is the golf course itself a treat to play, but the refreshing, natural beauty of Soi Dao Mountain provides a well-deserved escape, with clear blue skies and fresh air for an all-round sensorial delight. This uphill Par 4 is free from bunkers on the tee shot, however the approach shot features bunkers on the front short right of the green. Don’t forget to soak in the beautiful views towards the lake and Soi Dao Mountain beyond! Hole 2 – A downhill Par 4 with no bunkers around the green. The second shot requires an approach over the creek onto the long stepped green, with Soi Dao Mountain in the background. Hole 3 – A long Par 3 where accuracy is key. Avoid the creek on the right and a bunker on the short right. Hole 4 – A relatively easy Par 4 that can be made more difficult against a prevailing wind. The tee shot also features trees on both the left and right, with the green having a bunker to avoid on the left. Hole 5 – This slightly uphill Par 4 requires avoiding three deep cross bunkers on the tee shot. The green is bunker free, however be aware of the drop off on the front left. Hole 6 – Tee off from the elevated tee on this Par 5. When teeing off into a prevailing wind, it is possible to reach the green in two shots. A creek runs along the right all the way from the tee to the green, with a large bunker to the left and small bunker central on the tee shot. The diagonal green is against a long bunker with a pond and creek on the short right. Hole 7 – A fun island Par 3. Be sure to avoid the bunkers behind the green. Hole 8 – Another split fairway Par 4. Avoid the large tree in the middle, 100 yards from the green. The elevated green has bunkers all around and large trees as a backdrop. Hole 9 –A downhill Par 5 towards the Club House. There’s a series of bunkers to avoid that cross the fairway from left to right. The green is reachable in two shots, with a deep bunker at the front left of the green. Practice Area: Practice your driving, approach shots and putting at the practice area directly in front of the Club House. Hole 10 –Tee off in front of the hotel, making sure to steer clear of the bunker on the right. On the approach shot, avoid the creek to land on the green, surrounded by bunkers on the left, in front and behind. Hole 11 – A short Par 4 with a dogleg right. With the green not visible from the tee, positioning is key for the approach shot, which is uphill and has bunkers before the green. Be wary of the green, which falls right to left. Hole 12 – A medium length Par 3, downhill and with a pond and stonewall guarding the front on the green. Beware of the bunkers on the right. Hole 13 – A long, uphill Par 5. There’s a slight dogleg left with bunkers on the left, leading to a second shot that’s blind of the green. The approach is also blind, so be careful of the pond on the front right of the green. Hole 14 – This enjoyable Par 3 is Chatrium Golf Resort Soi Dao Chanthaburi’s signature hole. The long drive drops 15m from tee to green, with beautiful views of Soi Dao Mountain in the background. Be sure to tee-off accurately, as the green is heavily bunkered on the left and right. Hole 15 – A tough Par 4 that requires accuracy. The beautiful approach shot is set at the bend of a creek running in front of, on the right side and around the back of the green. Hole 16 – The 7th hole Par 4 has a split fairway, with the smaller fairway on the left being the more direct route; however it is protected by two bunkers to avoid. The longer route has a large fairway and a dogleg right to make the hole. The approach shot is played over a creek and be sure to avoid the bunker on the left. Hole 17 – A straight Par 5 with rain trees on the left and right. It is possible to reach the green in two shots, however the challenge is hitting the elevated green. Hole 18 –Finish off an enjoyable round with a generous fairway which allows for many approach shot angles, which are directed at a green with a high left and low right, surrounded by bunkers on the left and short right. Practice Area – Practice your driving, approach shots and putting at the practice area directly in front of the Club House. Kiosks Take a break and stay refreshed from an energetic round of golf at one of our kiosks at the 3rd, 7th and 14th holes offering a range of ice cold drinks and tempting snacks to help keep you going for that hole in one.
